What do General and Operations Managers  do? General and Operations Managers are tasked with overlooking the operations of a company. It is their job to plan the company’s operations so that the company can move towards achieving its goals. It is then their job to implement such operational plans as well as direct the relevant day-to-day activities. A part of their job includes managing the available resource and manpower of the company and utilizing them as effectively as possible to follow the operational plans.

General and Operations managers are also tasked with reviewing the financial performance of the company on a regular basis and identify the areas where the company could register improvement.

Business Manager - An operations director is typically tasked with overlooking the operations and administration of a company. His job includes overseeing the day-to-day activities to ensure they follow the operational plan and policies of the company.

Operations Director - A business manager’s job description is quite similar to general and operations managers. He is tasked with overseeing the operations and employees of a company and making sure both comply with the company policies and plans.

How do people become General and Operations Manager? The basic requirement for a career as a General and Operations Manager is to have a background in human resource management, business administration, operations management or a related field.
