Chuck Johnson started his martial arts career at the age of 15 in Michigan, USA, with Olympic Taekwondo. With a fanatic training schedule, he earned his black belt in only 2.5 years and became the Michigan State Junior Olympic Champion, less than a week later sweeping the division and winning gold medals in every event held (sparring, forms and board breaking). In college, he began going back and forth to Korea to train with Yonsei University's International Taekwondo Club, and privately under instructors from Kyung Hee University, Samsung's professional Taekwondo team, and various members of Korean national teams.
