In the course Internet of Things and the Cloud you will learn about the Internet of Things with regard to programming and the cloud.

The course begins by exploring the opportunities for IoT and the concept behind the IoT. You will then be introduced to the Raspberry Pi 3 and its uses. You will learn how to identify different parts of a Raspberry Pi 3 and describe various functions of the Raspberry Pi 3. The course then demonstrates how to configure a new Raspberry Pi 3 and install an operating system on it. From here, you will also be shown how to create a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) application that will help you in developing. You will also be shown how to debug an application.

Next, the course delves into Azure and the Cloud and their relationship with the IoT. You will learn the difference between inputs and outputs from an IoT system and be given an insight into why IoT is the next big thing in computing. You will also learn how to build an IoT solution in Azure. You will learn about the four categories that devices can be classed into and the difference between each device.

This course will be of great interest to learners who would like to learn more about the functionality between the Internet of Things and the cloud.

Having completed this course you will be able to: - Discuss the concept behind the IoT; - Develop a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) application; - Explain what Raspberry Pi 3 is; - Identify different parts of a Raspberry Pi 3; - Describe the functions of the Raspberry Pi 3. - List the steps in order to initialize a pin; - Explain the cloud in relation to IoT; - Describe the features found in Azure that allow you to build an IoT solution; - and discuss how devices are becoming more precise with Windows 10 so that it can be run on very small devices.
