Michael Emenau of MNO Music has a degree in classical music from McGill University in Canada. He has worked professionally as a percussionist, pianist, composer, producer and arranger for more than 25 years, playing such diverse genres as jazz, rock, drum & bass, salsa, techno, country, Hindustani, gospel, baroque, Klezmer, instrumental hip-hop, film and orchestral music. He has recorded on over 200 CDs, composed music for at least eight films, dozens of advertisements and various contemporary dance troupes, toured internationally, and lived on three continents. As a recording artist, he has released a series of highly acclaimed solo CDs on the boutique record labels, Hearts of Space, Daikini, Lucky Bear, Jazz Mafia and Six Degrees records. He has performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall in the US and Philharmonie de Paris in France to the Knitting Factory nightclub in New York City and the Burning Man festival in the US.
Michael is signed to Six Degrees/Universal Records in San Francisco and works under the names MNO and Michael Emenau, focusing primarily on instrumental hip-hop and neo-classical chamber music.
Michael has created numerous best-selling courses in the field of music. He is also the creator of the music education/ear training app called Easy Music, which was selected as iTunes Editors Choice 'Best New APP' for iTunes/App Store worldwide as well as one of the 'Top 10 Apps of 2016'.
