• Define a ‘low’, ‘medium’ or ‘high’ pitch note played on the piano by listening to it
• State the sequence in which the notes are played from their pitch
• Recognise and name the notes played in different sequences or patterns
• Identify the scale, whether a C or G major, by listening to the notes played
• Distinguish between a major and a minor chord played on the piano by listening to it
• Compare the tonality and the sonority of the chords played on different musical instruments
• Categorise the chord tones as ‘major’ or ‘minor’ by listening to them in different patterns
