Alison Launches Smarter Calendar Sync to Turn Study Plans Into Real, Scheduled Action

Friday, 14th November 2025

GALWAY, IRELAND – November 2025

Alison has launched an improved calendar sync, allowing Learners to connect study plans to their default calendar directly from their Alison Dashboard in the new Learning Environment. This global update makes it simpler to schedule study time, track course goals, and receive Study Reminders to stay on track with online learning.

Bringing Study Reminders Into the Routines Learners Already Follow

Many Learners juggle work and personal responsibilities, making sustained online study difficult. While managing time and routines is key to finishing free courses, Learners waste time switching tools to organise their day. Alison’s upgraded calendar sync directly adds Study Reminders where Learners need them most, helping turn plans into actions and create lasting study habits.

Alison Learners can now sync Study Reminders with their default calendar app directly from their Dashboard. Once synced, reminders show as events in their personal calendar, generating notifications from both their calendar and Alison. This keeps study goals visible alongside other commitments, enabling better planning and accountability across devices and time zones.

In the redesigned Learning Environment, Alison now offers a goal-setting process that lets Learners set completion deadlines by choosing a date and time for finishing a course. The calendar sync option is integrated into this flow, so Learners can easily add reminders for specific courses while setting their goals. This seamless integration supports personal deadlines by embedding them directly into daily routines, helping Learners stay consistent through timely, automated notifications.

These enhancements provide tangible benefits. Individual Learners can use the structured planner to reduce procrastination, stay motivated, and complete free online Certificate and Diploma courses in fields like Business, IT, Healthcare, Sustainability, and AI. Educators and Learning and Development professionals can plan workforce training programmes more easily with synced reminders, ensuring training stays on schedule. Jobseekers and professionals can view and act on learning commitments alongside their other responsibilities, supporting practical progress towards career goals.

“Consistent learning does not happen by accident – it happens when people build learning into the rhythm of their daily lives,” said Ciaran Cannon, Vice-President of Global Affairs at Alison. “By integrating Study Reminders with our Learners’ own calendar apps, we are helping them transform aspirations into concrete, scheduled commitments. The improved calendar sync and goal-setting features are another step in our mission to make high-quality, free education more accessible, more practical, and more closely aligned with how people actually live and work around the world.”

Looking forward, Alison plans to continue evolving its Study Reminder and scheduling tools with more intelligent, Learner-centred features. Future updates may include smarter suggestions based on course intensity, Learner progress and time availability, as well as deeper integrations with additional calendar and productivity platforms. As Alison expands its catalogue of free, CPD-accredited courses and rolls out multilingual content, including a full Spanish-language offering, integrated tools like calendar sync will remain central to supporting lifelong learning habits and better outcomes for Learners everywhere.
