Alison Launches AI Search and Results, Answering Questions and Connecting Learners With Relevant Courses

Thursday, 5th November 2026

GALWAY, IRELAND - 2026-11-05

Alison has launched AI Search and Results on its website, allowing people to discover learning by asking questions directly in the search bar rather than relying solely on course names or keywords.

This means someone can describe what they want to understand, solve, or learn and use that question as the starting point for finding the right learning opportunities.

The update changes Alison Search from a tool primarily used to find something a person already knows how to look for into a broader discovery experience that can help them work out where to begin.

Learners Do Not Need to Know the Name of the Course They Need

Knowing what you want to achieve does not always mean knowing what to search for.

Someone might want to understand how to manage a difficult employee, prepare for a career in cybersecurity, improve their business finances, or learn which skills are needed for a particular job. None of those goals necessarily arrives with the name of an Alison course attached.

AI Search allows people to express that need as a question. Instead of requiring them to translate it into the right keywords first, the search experience can respond to what they are actually trying to find out and connect that intent with relevant learning.

Search Results Now Provide an Answer Alongside Courses

The new experience goes beyond returning a list of matching courses.

AI Search generates a response to the question itself, helping the person understand the topic before presenting Alison courses that can take that learning further. Related subjects can also appear within the results, providing additional directions to explore where relevant.

Bringing these elements together means a single search can help someone understand a subject, identify courses connected to it, and discover adjacent areas they may want to investigate.

Search Becomes Part of the Learning Experience

For a platform with thousands of courses across a wide range of subjects, helping people find the right place to start is an important part of making that learning useful.

Traditional search works well when someone already knows what they are looking for. AI Search adds another route for people who arrive with a problem, ambition, career goal, or simply a question.

By connecting those questions directly with answers and relevant Alison learning, search becomes more than a way to navigate the course library. It can help people turn what they want to know into a clearer idea of what they could learn next.
