Alison Adds UPI Payments for Learners in India Following Learner Demand

Monday, 2nd November 2026

GALWAY, IRELAND - 2026-11-02

Alison has introduced Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments in the Alison Shop, allowing Learners in India to use the country’s most widely used digital payment system when purchasing Certificates, Attestation Letters, and Alison Premium subscriptions.

The addition follows direct feedback from Alison Learners, giving them access to a payment method already used for billions of transactions across the country each month.

Learners Asked for UPI, Alison Added It

The decision to introduce UPI came from a specific gap identified by Learners themselves.

When Alison asked Learners about their payment experience, some reported that the method they preferred was not available. Among those respondents, 13% specifically requested UPI.

That feedback gave Alison a clear product improvement to act on. Rather than asking those Learners to use an alternative payment method, UPI has now been integrated into the Shop as another checkout option for customers in India.

UPI Now Accounts for 85% of India’s Digital Payments by Volume

The request reflects the extraordinary scale at which UPI is already used across India.

According to the Government of India, UPI accounted for 85% of the country’s digital payment transactions by volume in FY 2025-26. Data from the National Payments Corporation of India shows that 24.5 billion UPI transactions were processed in August 2026 alone.

For Alison, introducing UPI means adapting the purchase experience to the way people in one of its key markets already transact online, rather than expecting Learners to adapt to the platform.

Certificates, Attestation Letters, and Premium Can Now Be Purchased Through UPI

The new payment option is available across eligible purchases in the Alison Shop.

Learners can use UPI to purchase Certificates that formally record their course achievements, Attestation Letters that provide additional evidence including final assessment results and verification, and Alison Premium subscriptions for an ad-free learning experience and additional Premium benefits.

The update gives Learners in India a locally established way to pay for the Alison products they choose, bringing the final step of the purchase experience in line with a payment system that has become part of everyday life across the country.
