Alison joins EU Transparency Register, strengthening its voice in European skills, AI, and education policy discussions

Tuesday, 16th June 2026

GALWAY, IRELAND - 2026-06-16

Alison, one of the world's largest free online empowerment platforms, and one of the few globally scaled education technology companies headquartered in Europe, has joined the European Union Transparency Register.

The Transparency Register is the European Union's official framework for organisations that seek to engage with EU policymakers and institutions. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how people learn and work, Alison believes that access to education and skills development must remain central to policy discussions. Through its registration, Alison aims to contribute practical insights drawn from nearly two decades of delivering free education at scale and helping millions develop the skills needed to participate in an increasingly digital economy.

"Every day, millions of people come to Alison to gain new skills, improve their employability, and create better opportunities for themselves," said Mike Feerick, Founder and CEO of Alison. "Our experience serving learners across Europe and around the world gives us a unique perspective on the barriers people face in accessing education and skills training. We look forward to contributing that perspective to discussions on Europe's digital future, workforce development, and AI-enabled learning."

Among the areas Alison hopes to contribute to are policies supporting digital skills development, multilingual access to education, AI literacy, workforce readiness, vocational training, and lifelong learning. The company is also interested in initiatives that strengthen Europe's digital ecosystem, including advances in AI-assisted translation, digital infrastructure, and technologies that expand access to high-quality learning opportunities.

Alison believes that technology can play a transformative role in making education more accessible, particularly through innovations that enable learning content to be delivered across multiple languages and geographies at scale. As one of the world's largest providers of free online education, the company sees significant opportunities to support European objectives relating to social inclusion, labour market participation, economic resilience, and digital empowerment.

The registration marks an important step in Alison's efforts to establish constructive dialogue with EU institutions, programmes, and stakeholders working to advance education, skills development, and technological innovation across Europe.
