Founded in 1848, the University of Wisconsin–Madison is a public research university based in Madison, Wisconsin and is the flagship campus of the University of Wisconsin System and one of America's Public Ivy universities.

A long list of academic and social achievements include changing the way the nation takes its vitamins, created the first poverty-research center, founded a University Research Park as early as 1984 and developed Warfarin.

Like many other Universities the University of Wisconsin makes some of their text books freely available to help others learn and benefit from their research and expertise
