I first came across Alison through a Google search while I was looking for free online courses and certifications. I wanted accessible, useful learning, and Alison gave me a way to keep building my skills online.

2. What did you study? List the courses and tell us why you studied those courses in particular.

I completed the Diploma in Terrestrial and Coastal Navigation course because I am interested in the maritime industry and navigation. As a deck cadet, I wanted to build the knowledge and skills I need for a professional career at sea.

The course equipped me with knowledge in coastal and terrestrial navigation, chart work, voyage planning, marine safety, and ship operations. I chose it because I wanted to prepare for maritime navigation and watchkeeping duties, and to develop the competencies required in this field.
