Georgian is the official language of the country of Georgia, located between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. This course will explore the thirty-three letters of the Georgian alphabet and lets you hear their proper pronunciations. You will learn the words used for greetings, self-introductions and how to communicate with polite manners with terms such as 'please', 'excuse me' and 'I'm sorry'. You will also learn how to count in Georgian and identify colours, food and animals before studying verbs and pronouns commonly used in simple sentences.

We will then focus on the verbs 'to be' and 'to live', emphasizing their different forms. Georgian is an interesting language with noun declensions and syncopating declensions that we will discuss and apply when constructing sentences. You will also learn new vocabulary for stating the time and date, discussing the family unit, identifying various body parts and describing people’s personalities.
