Sexual assault crosses both physical and emotional boundaries. This course offers guidance on identifying the telltale signs that a child you know is being abused, as well as solutions for supporting them. First, we look into Child Sexual Exploitation patterns and behavioural markers for sexual abuse in youngsters. Then, we learn about the measures to take in supporting children, beginning with listening to them calmly and emphatically, going with the disclosure process, and concluding with different types of therapy.

Next, we investigate the record-keeping characteristics and the data that must appear in the child's protection file, including the incident date, the date and time of the record's creation, and any discussions and actions performed. After that, you'll learn different counselling techniques for child abuse, like developmental play groups and play, talk and family therapy. The benefits of mentoring and the goals of Child Advocacy are also described.

The course further addresses the importance of secure attachment relationships in children's healthy emotional development and provides a comprehensive list of coping strategies. Following that, we discuss why and how to set healthy boundaries while learning safety measures which help children to protect themselves and what to do if boundaries are violated. This training will give you all the tools you need to help victims of sexual assault feel safe and prevent re-traumatization.
