This course aims to introduce you to the foundation of ACT. It starts by defining ACT and its core message, aims and application. The six core processes of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy will be discussed. Also, you will learn about the approach of ACT.
The following section will discover the concept of experiential avoidance and its role in ACT. How to structure your counselling sessions and set client treatment goals will be understood. You will then be able to find out more about how to understand your client's problem. The concept of creative hopelessness plays a crucial role in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
