Workforce Technology Conference

The 5th Annual Workforce Technology Conference took place between May 20th and May 23rd 2008, with over 100 representatives from over 20 State Workforce organizations in attendance.

The conference offered a comprehensive showcase of technology and solutions for enhancing workforce programs throughout the United States. Workforce development professionals, administrators, case managers, and labour market information specialists attended to learn how the latest technology can improve their system performance and increase services.

Alison CEO Mike Feerick outlined the increasing cooperation between Alison, Geographic Solutions Inc and the State Workforce community in providing freely accessible high quality basic skills training to workforces across the US. To date, Alison has been integrated into two state workforces learning and employment resource portals, with plans for a further nine similar partnerships by the end of 2008.

Speaking at the conference, Feerick stated: “There is a huge demand across the US for freely-accessible workplace skills training, and the partnerships evolving at this conference will allow millions of Americans to improve their skills without the barrier of having to pay for quality instruction. Alison services can be accessed for free individual study from the workplace or the home, a flexibility which is all the more important in these increasingly difficult economic times.”
