I completed the Diploma in Nursing Studies, does it mean that I am a nurse?

Alison's courses focus on basic skills-based workplace learning, and our Certificate courses typically take 2-3 hours to complete, while Diploma courses take around 15 hours. The Diploma in Nursing studies is a great introduction to nursing, but it cannot be compared to a formal, accredited qualification of a Registered Nurse, which usually requires a degree and may take 3-4 years to complete in most countries. The knowledge and skills gained through Alison's courses can still be valuable and may assist you in your application to accredited nursing programmes, or in pursuing related healthcare roles. It's essential to check the specific entry requirements of individual colleges or employers to determine how Alison's courses can support your career in nursing.

Are Alison courses accredited/recognised?

Continuing Professional Development, or CPD, is the process of continually developing or maintaining your professional skills. CPD helps individuals focus on how they can become a more competent and effective professional. Due to our rigorous publishing review process, courses on Alison are now being accredited by CPD UK, an independent organisation. Accredited CPD training means the learning activity has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks, and the learning value has been scrutinised to ensure integrity and quality. This CPD Certification Service provides recognised independent CPD accreditation compatible with global CPD requirements. This means a certificate from a course on Alison can now be used as part of your CPD requirements (please check with your organisation’s guidelines).
