The Alison App Sets New Record With More Than 80,000 Net Monthly Installs

Monday, 12th October 2026

GALWAY, IRELAND - 2026-10-12

Alison, a global leader in free online learning and skills development, has recorded the highest number of net monthly installs in the history of the Alison App, reaching 80,057 in September 2026.

The new record marks a significant milestone for Alison’s mobile learning platform, which gives Learners access to thousands of free courses directly from their phones and tablets.

Alongside accessing courses, Learners can use the App to continue their studies and track their progress. Its Offline Learning feature also allows course content to be downloaded in advance and studied without an active internet connection.

The Alison App Is Becoming a More Complete Learning Platform

The Alison App is designed to support more of the learning journey from a mobile device, from discovering a course and studying its content to keeping track of progress.

This is particularly relevant as Alison continues to bring functionality previously associated with its desktop experience into the App. Recent updates have expanded the learning information and tools available on mobile, allowing Learners to manage more of their experience without moving between devices.

For Learners who primarily access the internet through a smartphone, that can make the difference between mobile being a secondary way to check a course and becoming the device through which they complete much of their learning.

Offline Learning Removes the Need for Continuous Connectivity

The App also addresses a different barrier to online education: an internet connection is usually required at the exact moment someone wants to learn.

Offline Learning allows Learners to download course content while they have access to the internet and continue studying later without a connection. This can make courses more practical for people dealing with unreliable connectivity, limited mobile data, regular travel, or periods without internet access.

Growing Mobile Adoption Is Shaping How Alison Delivers Free Learning

The record for net monthly installs also reinforces the importance of mobile within Alison’s wider product development.

As more Learners choose to access Alison through smartphones and tablets, the App provides an increasingly important route for delivering the same core principle on which Alison was founded: education should be accessible regardless of a person’s circumstances.

September’s result therefore represents more than a new App record. It gives Alison a larger mobile learning community to build for as the platform continues developing how its courses, learning records, progress tools, and other features are delivered across devices.
