Description

This free online course will begin by introducing you to solar energy and solar cells from potential solar energy options and solar energy variation. You will get to study the economics of solar energy, solar photovoltaic cells, and solar water heating. You will also discuss design strategies, the green design process, and green building rating systems. This includes greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, energy distribution, building sustainability requirements, and tools.

Next, you will also be introduced to the comparison of tools, the differences between conventional and green delivery system. You will learn about basic LEED concepts, green buildings, the green globe as a challenge to LEED, the green globe as an alternative to LEED, and green building tools. You will be knowledgeable about how LEED works and LEED minimum program requirements. This will lead you to autoclaved aerated concrete, insulated precast system, and insulated precast form. This includes insulated concrete form, tunnel form, and modular construction.

Lastly, in this free online course, you will gain an understanding of insulated concrete form and foam concrete.  You will be introduced to the installation block, installation panels, and insulated wall panels. This will lead you to concrete modular, advantages of concrete modular, and light gauge steel with concrete fill. You will then learn about the advantages, disadvantages of light gauge steel, and light steel modular construction.
