Prepare Me AsIAm – Christmas AsIAm

In this course, AsIAm, Ireland’s Autism Charity is delighted to support our community to navigate and celebrate the holiday season in an Autistic household.

The holiday season can be a challenging time for Autistic families, as changes in routine, socializing, and traditions may cause discomfort and stress. However, it doesn't have to be that way.

In this AsIAm Program, Amanda McGuinness, Prepare Me AsIAm Manager and Autistic parent to four neurodivergent children, provides advice and support on how to navigate the holiday season in an Autistic household.

The Christmas AsIAm program will provide insights and lived experience accounts on raising and supporting Autistic family members during the holiday period. AsIAm will identify challenges that may occur during the holiday season and provide neuro-affirmative strategies of support.

In this Prepare Me program focusing on holidays in an Autistic home, you learn how to provide sensory supports over the Christmas period, navigate visitors coming to the safe haven of your home. You will learn how to support your child to understand who Santa Claus is and what to expect during the Christmas period.

Finally you will be able to access the AsIAm Christmas resource bank, to further support your Autistic family member to navigate and enjoy the holiday season.
