Researchers generally assume that human beings are perfectly logical and everyone has comparable access to information and opportunities in life, but this is not the case for most of us. Certain vulnerable groups are deprived of the ability to exercise power and independence daily. This course analyses various unfair behaviours, including child marriages, child soldiers, oppression, and power, that have affected and moulded many of our communities today, particularly those populated by people of colour.

We begin by explaining what it means to be empowered and how people can become persecuted and suggest approaches for dealing with power inequity and oppression. The issue of child brides and a tactic that has assisted in putting an end to child marriage is next addressed. After that, we explore a serious violation of international law, which is still widespread in global conflicts: enlisting youngsters into the armed services. It is a significant human rights issue that campaigners fight to address daily.

Next, the course explains how, overwhelmingly, environmental degradation, climate change, and pollution have a disproportionate impact on people of colour worldwide. Following that, you'll learn how the negative externalities from environmental degradation are frequently allocated unequally. We conclude by talking about settler colonialism, environmental racism, and the ways that resurgent Indigenous activism can help solve social, political, economic, and ecological injustices. This course will help you better grasp the multiple obstacles.
