Like every other product tested against various relevant standards, software products undergo regular scrutiny to match global and industrial standards. To ensure the integrity and quality of software products, the International Organisation for Standardisation has enacted several standards that belong to the SQuaRE (System and Software Quality Requirements) Family of Standards.

This course will focus on one such standard belonging to this family. This standard, ISO/IEC 25010, belongs to the Quality Model Division family. Its core emphasis is providing guidelines for developing a system to evaluate and improve software quality. It presents two characteristics, i.e. 1) product quality model and 2) quality-in-use model. Both these characteristics have their sub-characteristics, which are duly explained in the standard.

This course explains all of the aspects mentioned earlier of this course in a comprehensible language. Charts and flow diagrams have been used across the standard to make it easy for the students to understand distinct divisions within the standard. A video has also been added to increase the learners' engagement. A series of questions follow each topic to help learners revisit the essential concepts they have learned in the course. The developers of this course have aimed to make it helpful, mainly for information technology students, quality assurance professionals, business analysts, and IT consultants.
