If you want to move up the career ladder, then you need to develop supervision skills. Every manager or senior member of staff has responsibilities for making sure other employees are doing their jobs correctly. If you are unable to supervise effectively, you cannot remain in or reach the higher levels of your organisation. These are not only important skills, but rewarding as well. If you can keep a team productive and working well, you will see the benefits affect your entire organisation.

Through this free course you will learn the key skills necessary to become an effective supervisor. The course begins by introducing you to the basics of supervision and describing the responsibilities of a supervisor. You will then learn about the five keywords of supervision, the five traits of a great supervisor, and the three supervisor core competencies. The course will then delve into areas that are vital for strengthening the relationship between a supervisor and their employees, going through the value of trust among your employees and the importance of understanding employee motivations.

If you are hoping for career progression into the field of supervision or are an existing supervisor wishing to strengthen your skills and become more effective at your job, this is the course for you. The skills you will learn (particularly the ability to strengthen relationships with employees) will be not only useful for career development, but interesting and personally rewarding as well. Not bad for a course that only takes 2 hours.

After completing this course, you will:

  • Define supervision;
  • List the responsibilities of a supervisor;
  • Define leadership;
  • Describe the principles of leadership;
  • Explain how to delegate successfully;
  • Describe some ways a supervisor can motivate their employees;
  • Explain why trust is important in the workplace;
  • Define what supervisors have an impact on;
  • Distinguish between coaching and mentoring.

Very good, because it is difficult to find literature that clearly explains what "SUPERVISION" is. For me, as a Mechanical Engineer, I have a lot of experience in supervision and this course has helped to enrich my knowledge and clarify doubts.

More comprehensive and less remedial than might otherwise be expected from an intro course. The test is a little rigorous, but not impossible.

The introduction to Supervision course is a great opportunity for proteges to understand the corporate world and also learn at their own pace.
