Dr Abu, who hails from India, earned a gold medal in his undergraduate studies in physical education. He subsequently obtained his Master's degree in library and information science, and a PhD in the same field, with the help of a Junior Research Fellowship. Furthermore, Abu has published numerous research papers in prestigious journals indexed in IEEE, Ebsco, and Scopus. In addition, he received the 2019 Emerald South Asia LIS Research Award for his proposal on analysing the state of school libraries in India.
