Dr Kamil Zwolski of My Global Politics is an associate professor in International Politics at the University of Southampton and the programmes director in the Department of Politics and International Relations. He is also a senior fellow of the UK's Higher Education Academy. Zwolski has a PhD in International Politics from the University of Salford in the UK and a Masters in European Studies from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. He has written a book called 'European Security in Integration Theory', which examines federalism and functionalism – two fundamental, yet largely forgotten, theories of international integration, in the context of the war in Ukraine and contemporary European security order.
Dr Zwolski has extensive expertise in the field of international relations. His research revolves around the following problems: the theory and practice of European security; European integration theory and security architecture in Europe; foreign and security policy of states and international organisations; war and conflict in international relations; security policy and strategy of Central-Eastern European countries; the rise of China; Europe-Russian relations and the United States in international relations.
