Robin Hills: “Publishing with Alison has meant being able to spread the message about emotional intelligence to a global audience in unique ways.”
Robin Hills is an emotional intelligence coach, trainer and facilitator working with a variety of organisations from small start-up companies to large global multinationals. Robin is Director of EI4Change – Emotional Intelligence 4 Change – with expertise in emotional intelligence, positive psychology and neuroscience. Robin tells us about his background, working with Alison and the importance of committing to developing our emotional well-being.
I’m an emotional intelligence coach, trainer and facilitator working on bespoke people development initiatives with all shapes and sizes of organisations – multinational companies, small businesses, public sector organisations, and charities. This role has developed over the years as I built upon my expertise in emotional intelligence, positive psychology and neuroscience.
I like Alison’s ethos of providing free learning to everyone. More importantly, I was impressed by the quality of the learning materials that make up the courses. This is unusual as free often means poor value. If I was to publish courses on Alison, I had to meet their very exacting standards. Publishing on Alison takes longer than expected because of their high standards and quality control. Stick with it – it’s worth it. Publishing with Alison has meant being able to spread the message about emotional intelligence to a global audience in unique ways that will make a difference to people’s lives.
My courses are based around emotional intelligence. Many trainers and publishers produce courses in this area, but often they add this topic into other personal development courses. Emotional intelligence is not a bolt-on to other subjects. It underpins everything that we do as humans – how to use our emotions in smart ways to make good decisions and develop authentic relationships. This means that emotional intelligence is fundamental to leadership, teamworking, communication, relationships, conflict, decision-making, motivation, etc. My Diploma in Emotional Intelligence course has just been published on Alison. This pulls together the best bits of all my courses into one large comprehensive course covering emotional intelligence in depth. The course contains everything that you need to gain new skills and a new understanding about yourself. There is nothing else like this available anywhere else.
I have over 60,000 learners in over 170 countries taking my courses. Many of these countries do not have the educational opportunities that we have here in the United Kingdom, nor do they have the resources to gain an education in similar ways. Being able to access the learning that I provide at no cost and that is available anytime and anywhere through Alison gives people the chance to learn new skills and create opportunities. This type of learning could only be dreamt of a few years ago.
I understand how hard it can be to develop but without practice you are not going to build your emotional intelligence. You can’t learn emotional intelligence just by watching a few videos or reading a few slides. You have to go away and put into practice what you have learnt. This takes a lot of effort and it’s often easier not to bother. Developing your emotional intelligence is not easy!
Take the first step towards a happier you by starting a course in emotional intelligence now.
