Alison is currently looking for a French Translator & Editor to join our team as we expand our education offering into the French speaking world. This would initially be a 6 month contract, but may be extended as we grow further.
This person would work with our existing French translators to translate English content across our website and app into French, as well as to write fresh web content in French from time to time. This would involve translation of content from our website, advertising, emails, app, and courses.
This role is highly independent. Our translators all work fully remotely and we are highly flexible regarding specific working hours. Rather than requiring you to work a 9-5 schedule, you will be given batches of content that will need to be translated within a given timeframe. When and where you work is up to you. Alison fully promotes a healthy work-life balance and aims to have all of our employees work in the environment that best suits them.
The ideal candidate will be process-oriented, skilled in adhering to timelines, with the confidence and motivation to alert project leaders to better ways of working as well as issues to resolve. Alison requires quick learners that know how to align hard work with good communication to achieve operational goals.
Summary:
Translate existing content from English to French.
Write new content where necessary.
Work independently while adhering to deadlines.
Occasionally be available for video calls, which will be scheduled in advance.
Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and messaging while remaining true to Alison's purpose, audience and style.
Report progress in a timely fashion to management.
Translations are required to be at a high standard of accuracy. Attention to detail is vital and expected.
Demonstrate reliability at all times. We offer full independence in exchange for deadlines being met to a high standard.
Your Qualifications:
You have some professional or educational experience in translating, writing, or editing.
Your level of French is native and you are fluent in English.
