Communications Specialist

Alison is currently looking for an experienced Communications Specialist to engage with and market to our community of learners. This person will answer questions and deal with issues that our learners raise through social media channels. They will also be responsible for our marketing message - writing ad copy, blog posts, press releases and webpage content.

The Alison Communications Specialist will be responsible for translating our mission, products, and innovations into inspiring and compelling texts that clearly convey our message. They will create content that is not only informative but also encourages action, with a strong focus on storytelling.

From writing product descriptions for web pages to drafting press releases, they will ensure that our communication is clear, creative, and impactful. When engaging with our learners through any channel, their number one priority is to make their experience with Alison the best that it can possibly be.

Summary:

  • Engage with our online community on Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media - answering questions, addressing complaints and displaying the best side of our company.
  • Create strong and high-converting copy for social media, emails, ads, and campaigns.
  • Write compelling press releases, blogs, and landing pages that resonate with our target audience.
  • Ensure a consistent tone of voice that makes Alison recognizable and distinctive.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and creative team to seamlessly align visuals and text.
  • Understand how people consume digital content in our fast-moving, always-scrolling world and come up with ideas to capture their attention.
  • Be a creative problem solver who can motivate, inspire, and inform with words.
  • Love to learn new things, have a curious mind, and dive into different perspectives, and experiences.
  • Enjoy working with different teams and communicating clearly and empathetically, allowing you to build strong relationships and bring out the best in others.

Your Qualifications:

  • You have a creative mind and understand the impact of words.
  • Proven experience as a content creator (preferably within e-commerce or marketing).
  • Proven experience as a copywriter with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional writing skills. 
  • Background in journalism or related field, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to factual accuracy.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities, with the skill to adapt tone and style for different audiences and mediums.
  • Experience in community management, including handling social media engagement, responding to learner inquiries, and managing feedback across platforms.
  • Excellent writing skills in English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in the field of education is a plus.
