Course Information

This course discusses the NFPA 70E (2024) standard for safety from electrical hazards in the workplace with the updates.

NFPA 70E is one of the many standards published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), a US-based nonprofit organization. The NFPA 70E standard contains requirements for electrical safety in the workplace. With a recent upgrade for the year 2024, it is essential to understand the significant changes introduced in this standard. To equip Alison’s students with the latest knowledge and implications of NFPA 70E 2024, experts at Exoexcellence Consultants have developed this brief but comprehensive course.

There are four topics in this course. The first one introduces students to the NFPA 70 family and discusses the NFPA 70E standard. The topic also mentions the fundamental principles and practices of NFPA 2024. The second topic explains some of the most critical requirements of NFPA 70E 2024, such as employee safety and training, identification and documentation of lockout-tagout procedures, and completion of arc flash assessments.

The last two topics address the same theme, i.e., looking at some of the significant ways NFPA 70E 2024 differs from NFPA 70E 2021. The primary audience is students of occupational safety and electrical engineering. Enrolling in it can upgrade their knowledge regarding the latest regulations, their implications, and the language used in occupational safety and regulatory affairs.
