This free online course discusses the concept of sustainability and how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainability involves environmental health, social inclusiveness, and economic progress, all of which are interrelated and critical for personal and societal wellness. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to establish a brighter and more durable future for everybody. This course looks at the best approaches to achieving the SDGs and offers instances of successful global projects and initiatives that have made notable progress in this direction.
First, we address the concept of sustainability and the foundations of environmental science. Then, we explore the economic and social dimensions of sustainability and global challenges, such as poverty, inequality, resource depletion, and sustainable solutions. Then, you'll learn about integrating sustainable practices into daily life, including adopting environmentally responsible behaviors, conserving resources, and making informed consumption choices.
Finally, we investigate the United Nations' sustainable development goals, including their history and evolution. We then explore the 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, and the implementation strategies for achieving them. We also cover the indicators used for measuring SDG progress. This course will offer the instruments needed to make a real difference in your local area and nationwide.
