Course Information
This free online course aims to teach you how to set up SPI communication between a slave and a master device.
SPI is a synchronous communication protocol intended for board-level communication across short distances. It transmits and receives data at high data transfer rates concurrently. The SPI interface was founded by Motorola in 1970. SPI has a full duplex connection, meaning the data is sent and received simultaneously. When using an SPI connection, the peripheral devices are always controlled by a single controller device, typically a microcontroller.
This course aims to introduce you to Serial Parallel Interface (SPI) and demonstrate its practical applications in Arduino. It starts by outlining what SPI stands for and why you must use it in your Arduino project. Then, we will go into the depth of the topic and introduce you to how SPI works, how it makes communications between different devices easier, and why you should select it.
The following section will explain the proper use of SPI pins and libraries in Arduino Uno. Next, you will find a step-by-step guide on downloading and installing Proteus, Arduino, and circuit design and wiring software. Also, you will understand how to connect the SPI and Arduino boards. The final section will cover practical examples and coding exercises to show you how to implement SPI communication using any Arduino board.
