Pakistan Engineering Council and Alison Launch Learning Partnership to Support and Empower 400,000+ Engineers

Tuesday, 30th June 2026

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Alison, one of the world's leading EdTech platforms, have announced a partnership to expand access to professional development and digital learning opportunities for the engineering community across Pakistan and beyond.

Accordingly, PEC and Alison have entered into an international agreement that provides PEC members with access to a dedicated learning platform powered by Alison's LMS+ (Learning Management System). The platform will support Continuing Professional Development (CPD), skills development, and lifelong learning at scale. Alison's course design, development, and delivery processes are accredited by CPD UK.

The partnership aligns with both organisations' mission to make education and workplace-relevant skills accessible to all, while responding to growing demand for flexible, high-quality online engineering training and professional development opportunities.

Empowering Pakistani Engineers for a Rapidly Changing World

As the engineering-based industries worldwide continue to evolve through digital transformation, automation, and emerging technologies, engineers face increasing pressure to continuously develop new skills and maintain professional competencies. Across Pakistan and globally, demand for accessible CPD learning and industry-relevant training has never been greater.

Recognising this need, the PEC–Alison partnership will help engineers access flexible, self-paced learning opportunities that support career progression, professional recognition, and lifelong development. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening engineering talent and enabling professionals to remain competitive in an increasingly knowledge-driven digital economy worldwide.

A New Global E-Learning Experience for Engineers

Through this partnership, more than 400,000 PEC-registered engineers will gain access to a dedicated PEC online learning space powered by Alison's LMS+ Enterprise Platform. The platform includes unlimited learner registrations, learner management tools, reporting and analytics capabilities, and dedicated platform support.

Engineers will also have unmetered access to Alison's catalogue of more than 6,000 Certificate and Diploma courses, providing flexible opportunities to develop new skills, advance their careers, and pursue lifelong learning.

The agreement includes co-branded certificates featuring the PEC and Alison logos, as well as access to Alison's free career support tools, including psychometric assessments and English proficiency testing. Alison's course design, development, and delivery processes are accredited by CPD UK, and Alison Certificates can contribute towards CPD hours.

The platform will provide PEC with the tools needed to deliver, manage, and measure learning at scale, while supporting engineers throughout their professional development journeys.

The collaboration aims to make professional development more accessible, scalable, and efficient for engineering professionals across Pakistan, while supporting PEC's commitment to advancing professional standards.

Creating Meaningful Career and Skills Outcomes

The partnership is expected to benefit engineers at every stage of their careers by providing greater access to high-quality online learning, recognised credentials, and flexible opportunities to develop new competencies.

By combining PEC's professional network and industry leadership with Alison's expertise in digital education, the initiative will help learners build skills that support employability, career progression, professional excellence, and cross-border mobility. The availability of structured learning pathways and recognised certifications will further support engineers seeking to demonstrate ongoing professional development in a rapidly changing workplace.

Ms Olivia Cosgrove, Alison’s Head of Social Impact and Government Solutions, said:

“Engineers play a vital role in shaping the future of every society. Through this joint partnership with the PEC, Alison's specialised team is helping to ensure that engineering professionals have greater access to the knowledge, skills, and recognised learning opportunities they need to thrive in a changing world. Together, we are creating new pathways for professional growth, lifelong learning, and meaningful career development on a global scale.”

Engr. Waseem Nazir, PEC Chairman, remarked:

“This collaboration with Alison represents a milestone in PEC’s vision to empower our engineering community through globally recognised, CPD UK-accredited, certified, and globally accessible learning pathways. By leveraging Alison’s expertise in e-learning and social impact, PEC is ensuring that over 400,000 registered engineers across Pakistan gain the advanced engineering knowledge, skills, and professional development opportunities necessary to thrive in an evolving global landscape.”

Supporting Lifelong Learning Through Partnership

This partnership represents a significant step forward in expanding access to professional development for PEC-registered engineers. Through a year-round subscription model and a highly subsidised CPD framework, the collaboration will support greater access to digital

learning and professional development opportunities at scale. Through the implementation of Alison's LMS+ Platform, both organisations will work together to support learner engagement, skills development, and access to recognised educational resources.

The partnership reflects both organisations' commitment to expanding access to high-quality professional development and lifelong learning opportunities. It also highlights the growing role of digital learning in supporting workforce development and professional excellence across the engineering sector.
