Alison, one of the world's largest free online learning platforms, marked 2026 World Alzheimer's Day by confirming that nine of its Alzheimer's and dementia courses have been accredited by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI), the international federation of over 100 Alzheimer associations and federations worldwide.
Learners who complete an accredited course can now claim a co-branded certificate carrying both the Alison and ADI marks. The accreditation covers courses ranging from person-centred dementia care and challenging behaviours to supporting ageing parents and people with swallowing difficulties. They are available to anyone, anywhere, at no cost to study.
An estimated 78 million people are expected to be living with dementia worldwide by 2030, according to World Health Organization estimates. Much of the day-to-day care falls to family members and frontline workers who have had no formal training and, in many regions, no affordable way to get it. Alison's accredited courses are free to take and open to anyone with an internet connection.
