Built by local craftsmen, the stones used were quarried on site making up massive three to four foot walls. It keeps the Monastery warm in winter and nice and cool in the summer. Two standout features are the 1820’s doorway and the beautiful Georgian stucco plastering in the former Chapel. We commissioned a local artist to create large bright canvases to brighten up our many large walls!
