The LMS supports two methods of certificate assignment, depending on your subscription.

Auto Assign (FreeLMS)

With FreeLMS, certificates are assigned automatically on a first-completed, first-served basis.

As learners complete eligible courses, available certificates from your Certificate Bank are automatically awarded in the order learners finish their training. Managers cannot choose which learner receives a certificate.

Manual Assign(LMS+)

LMS+ gives you full control over certificate assignment.

Super Admins and Admins (with the appropriate permissions) can decide:

• which learners receive certificates

• when certificates are assigned after course was completed

• which completed courses or learning paths should be certified

This allows organisations to certify learners according to their own policies and training objectives.

LMS+ subscriptions include a monthly allocation of complimentary certificates.

These certificates can be claimed for any completed Alison course or diploma, regardless of whether the learning was:

• assigned through the LMS, or

• self-enrolled by the learner.

Complimentary certificates are issued every month and must be used within the same billing month.

There are two ways to assign certificates from your Certificate Bank.

From the Certificates Report

Open the Certificates Report, locate the learner, and click Assign next to the completed course or certificate request.

From a Group (LMS+)

Managers can also assign certificates directly from a group's page.

1. Open the required Group.

2. Select All Actions.

3. Click Assign Certificates.

This opens the Certificate Assignment panel, where you can manually select learners and assign certificates from your Certificate Bank.

When allocating certificates from a group, the system identifies all eligible completed learning within that group. Certificates can then be assigned for completed standalone courses as well as completed courses that form part of a Learning Path.

All organisation-wide reports are available from View All Reports in the left navigation menu.

From here you can:

• View different report categories

• Apply filters such as date range, learner, group or status

• Download reports in CSV format

The View All Reports page includes several reporting tabs.

These include:

• Assigned Course Reports

• Assigned Learning Path Reports

• Team Member Reports

• Group Reports

• Certificate Reports

The reports available depend on your LMS role.

• Super Admins have access to all reports.

• Admins have access according to the permissions granted by the Super Admin.

• Group Managers can only access reports for the groups they manage.

Group Managers can only access reports for the groups they are assigned to. They do not have access to organisation-wide reports or data for other groups.

To view a group's performance, open the required Group and select the Reports tab.

From the Reports tab, Group Managers can monitor their group's learning activity, learner progress, completion rates, certificates, and other key training metrics. Reports can also be downloaded as a CSV file for further analysis.

Most reports can be downloaded as CSV files.

To export a report:

1. Open the required report.

2. Apply any filters.

3. Select Download Report.

CSV exports can be opened in Excel or other spreadsheet applications for further analysis.

Additional Assignments (Content Library files) are tracked differently from Alison courses. Unlike courses, uploaded files do not include percentage completion. Instead, the LMS records whether the learner has viewed and completed the assignment.

A learner is considered Complete after interacting with the content, for example by:

• watching an uploaded or embedded video

• scrolling through a PDF

• viewing a PowerPoint presentation

Group Managers can monitor learner engagement with Additional Assignments directly from the group's Additional Assignments tab. Click View Assignment Details next to the assignment you want to review to view learner completion statistics and assignment status.

Only the Super Admin can purchase certificates.

To buy certificates:

1. Open Manage My Certificates from the left-hand navigation menu.

2. Click Purchase Certificates in the top-right corner.

   

3. Select the number of certificates you wish to purchase and complete the payment.

The more certificates your organisation purchases, the greater the discount available. Bulk purchasing allows you to reduce certification costs while ensuring certificates are always available when learners complete their assigned training.

Purchased certificates are added to your organisation's Certificate Bank and can be assigned to learners whenever required.

You can personalise all certificates issued through your LMS by adding your organisation's logo.

To upload your logo:

1. Go to Manage Your LMS+ Subscription.

2. Upload your company logo in the branding section.

   

Once uploaded, all certificates assigned through your LMS will automatically display your company logo in the top-right corner alongside Alison branding.
