Are you a novice programmer in Java looking to expand your expertise or an expert looking to review previous lessons? If so, this introductory course can help you on your programming journey! Learn how to run an initial Java Program on an x86 Chromebook while also exploring additional features and functions in this environment. You will begin by downloading an archived version of Apache Netbeans Integrated  Development Environment (IDE). This environment will enable migrations within the Linux Penguin terminal to check the Linux and Java versions. Using the Sudo command to update the Linux Terminal will also be available.

Java is interesting and valuable as it allows programmers and developers to program in an environment that can encapsulate a programming environment that runs everywhere. The Java Montra is: “program once run everywhere”. This mantra applies to Java programs, Web applications, Mobile Applications, as well as software development environments. This course is for beginners with the x86 Chromebook that can utilize, run, and create Java programs and applications.

This course shows the learner how to migrate within the Apache Netbeans IDE  and Linux terminal environments. It illustrates, from a beginner’s point of view, the importance of a Java Class being instantiated properly at the first line of Java code. This course also discussed the history of Java and Linux with a brief description of the founders. It explored the versioning of Java and Linux and how to write version commands at the terminal properly. It also explored the idea of Java and its object-oriented design.
