Revit software is a widely used tool in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. It is a powerful BIM (Building Information Modeling) software that allows users to create 3D models and analyze building components. It has become an essential tool for architects, engineers, and contractors due to its ability to streamline the design and construction process, improve collaboration, and reduce errors and conflicts.

First, we talk about floors, where you will learn about openings in floors, why not model floors with other categories such as roofs or ceilings, how to define slopes using different techniques, how to use the shape editor and variable thickness, what slab edges are, and their usability.

Next, we will look at different techniques for sketching the roofs and their advantages, the different ways of creating roof openings, and which one is suitable for which situation. Next, we will discuss why it is not good practice to model roofs with other Revit categories, what tools are available to us when defining sloping, and what the differences are between them. Then we will look at different shapes of roofs, how to create them in Revit, and roof-specific parameters, and what they do. Then, we will discuss less-known roof parts like fascia, soffit, and gutters, how to model them, and their actual usability in projects. I will give you some extra tips on roofs that I have found while working on Revit projects. Last but not least, we will take a look at Revit ceilings and their limitations.
