Learn Spanish: Directions and The Verb "Estar"

These Spanish lessons are made up of three parts: pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. We begin by exploring words related to directions and different locations. We then teach you how to use these words to give and receive directions. We also explain how to identify and write addresses in Spanish.

Once you have mastered these new words and practiced your skills with the questions provided, we examine the definite articles ‘el’, ‘los’, ‘la’ and ‘las’. These Spanish classes explain the difference between definite and indefinite articles. The English verb ‘to be’ is split into two verbs in Spanish: ’ser’ and ‘estar’. Once you are familiar with the verb ‘estar’, we show you how to use it with the different Spanish pronouns. We then provide you with essential terminology related to transportation and places around town and show you how to read a map.
