ISO 45001 is a new standard, published in March 2018, by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is the first publication by the ISO for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. Prior to this, OHSAS 18001:2007 was used as the British standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
This course will provide an insight into the elements of occupational health and safety management systems, proposed by ISO 45001. Prior to this publication, other management systems for health and safety have been used. The publication of ISO 45001 is driven by numerous factors, including the standardization of ISO itself, for example ISO 9001. This course will help you to understand why ISO has taken the initiative to develop this standard, the potential benefits it can deliver to organizations, how the standard works, how the PDCA approach is valid and more.
After completing this course it will be easier for you to compare the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 and for example, OHSAS 18001:2007. This course includes various activities that will help you to learn the concepts relating to occupational health and safety management systems. The course focuses on internal auditing and management reviews relating to ISO 45001.
In addition, this course provides a solid foundation for new learners to grasp the concepts on which this standard has been developed. It will assist workplace professionals looking to harness ISO 45001:2018 and will help to ease the process of implementing the standard in, for example, a supporting role. New Consultants and provisional auditors can use this course as an e-learning aid. Companies, multi-national organizations and small-to-medium enterprises can use this course as a primer or as refresher training material for professionals already working in organizations.
