Introduction to the Human Respiratory System
Gain a better understanding of the structure and function human respiratory system, the principles of air, and more.
Description
This course begins with an introduction to the respiratory system. You will study the importance of the respiratory system in the human body, the differences between breathing and respiration, the structure and function of the human trunk, and the differences between the thoracic cavity and the abdominopelvic cavity. This course will also discuss costal breathing and diaphragmatic breathing. You will also look into the different organs in the respiratory system.
You will then study the key functions and structure of the larynx and learn how human speech is produced. This course will also describe the structure of the respiratory tree and explain the function of the alveoli. You will look into the key functions of the lungs and their structure, the pleural cavities, and the difference between nutrient blood and functional blood. You will also learn how gases are transported around the body as well as look into resuscitation.
The respiratory system plays a vital role in the inhalation and exhalation of respiratory gases in the human body. After completing this course, you will become familiar with the structure and functions of the respiratory system and the exchange and transportation of gases. You will also be able to tell the difference between respiration and breathing. Check out this course and start exploring the structure and function of the human respiratory system.
