You will learn why there is a need for a reproductive system in the human body and study the two different types of sex hormones, the process of fertilization, and the role of Gametes. You will also study the external genitalia and meiosis, the structure and function of the male reproductive system, and the role of the testis in the male reproductive system.

You will then look into the structure and function of the female reproductive system and the role of the ovaries. This course will also describe the different stages of development during pregnancy. You will learn where the site of fertilization takes place and what an intrauterine pregnancy is. You will study the difference between an embryo and a fetus, the purpose of the placenta, and the different phases of childbirth. You will also look into parturition and episiotomy.

Unlike most anatomical systems in the human body, the male and female reproductive systems are completely different in structure and function but both work together to play a vital role in the production of an offspring.
