Meet Jonathan Davies of NuYew
Nuyew’s wide-ranging, industry-recognised courses are built with employers in mind and focus on providing all graduates with employment. Jonathan Davies, NuYew’s Founder and CEO, tells us about his expertise in training and his experience as an Alison Publisher.
Before working with Alison I was the Founder and CEO of The Training Room, one of the largest private Vocational Training Companies in the UK. During my time we helped over 10,000 people into work across a wide range of sectors from Personal Training to IT. After successfully exiting the company, I became a publisher on Alison as well as a consultant and a Non-Executive Director in the education sector. Prior to founding The Training Room, I worked at easyJet and was heavily involved in the establishment of the Pilot and Cabin Crew Training Model which is still in operation today.
I became an expert in Vocational Training through a mixture of my own study, 20 years of industry experience and continued professional development. I came across Alison when exploring the latest trends in free learning. I loved the model and especially the links between the training offerings and real life work opportunities.
The Alison publishing tools are very easy to use. The team are always on hand to help and are very supportive. Try and develop courses around your key expertise and think about they could benefit learners not only in the UK but worldwide. The revenues are very good.
All our courses are mapped to Level 2 on the National Framework, so learners can essentially achieve industry-recognised qualifications. We also focus on sectors where there is a high demand for employment, meaning that students should be able to complete one of our courses and then easily find employment. For example, our Level 2 Catering Award is a really in depth qualification that really inspires people looking to enter that sector.
Free education is so important as it provides the means for those not fortunate to have the time or the finances to study at a college or do a private course. It also encourages ongoing and lifetime learning, which is key to a happy and successful life.
I would love to publish a course on space travel, I find it fascinating as it gives us great perspective in difficult times as it reminds us we are a tiny planet in an infinite space.
