Alison Launches Localised Course Recommendations, Empowering Learners to Access In-Demand Skills in Their Region

Friday, 28th November 2025

GALWAY, IRELAND – 2025-11-28

Alison has introduced country-specific course and career recommendations to its App, giving Learners personalised guidance on which free online courses and career paths are most popular in their country. This in-app enhancement improves discovery, making it easier for Alison Learners to see what people in their country are learning and which careers they’re exploring.

This update strengthens Alison’s mission to make high-quality, accessible learning available to anyone, anywhere, and to ensure that learning feels relevant to local opportunities, not just global trends.

New Local Skills Trends Shape How Learners Choose Courses

Skill demands vary from country to country. Interest in areas like healthcare, digital marketing, IT support, renewable energy, logistics, English, and entrepreneurship shifts depending on local industries and economic needs.

Without local context, Learners can easily get overwhelmed by so many options and feel unsure which courses actually lead to real opportunities. Alison’s new local recommendations give Learners a clearer place to start by showing what’s popular and relevant in their country.

This feature helps Learners choose with greater confidence, understand how their interests relate to local trends, and feel supported as they explore learning paths that align with both their ambitions and the needs of their region. On the Alison App, a location-aware carousel now appears under both the “Most Popular Courses” and “Discover Careers” tabs, showcasing courses and careers that are trending in the Learner’s country.

“Personalised learning is most powerful when it recognises the realities of people’s lives. By guiding Learners towards the skills their own countries need most, and by showing them the courses and careers their peers are choosing, we are helping them open doors to sustainable employment and brighter futures. This update brings us closer to a world where opportunity is shaped not by geography, but by access to free, high-quality learning,” said Ciaran Cannon, VP of Global Affairs at Alison.

This update shows that Alison is genuinely listening to how people use their platform in different countries and is evolving the experience accordingly. It moves the platform closer to a future where each Learner sees a path that feels designed for them, their country, their context, and their ambitions.

Upcoming Enhancements to the Alison Platform

Alison will continue building a more guided and supportive learning experience through several upcoming developments. The platform is expanding its multilingual offering beyond English and Spanish, with work underway to make the full experience available in more high-demand languages. This will help more Learners study comfortably in the language they use every day.

Alison is also preparing for the launch of its Global Recruitment Service. When job-matching becomes available, it will sit on top of a learning ecosystem that reflects both global skills demand and local realities, giving Learners a clearer route from course completion to career opportunity.

Further ahead, Alison plans to introduce an AI Avatar that can support Learners with course recommendations, career guidance, and everyday questions, helping them navigate the platform with even more ease and confidence.

These developments form a key part of Alison’s long-term vision: a personalised global learning experience that gives every Learner the right skills at the right time, wherever they live.
