The key points from this module are:

The building energy management system is often referred to as BMS/BEMS.
The analysis and monitoring system for energy is known as Energy Management Information System (EMIS).
EnMS is a management system that empowers organizations to plan, review, improve, and identify improvements for the energy consumption patterns in an organization.
Without EnMS, EMIS alone cannot do much on energy optimization. This is where the EnMS optimizes and utilizes EMIS investment.
When there is a non-systematic approach to energy management, EMIS delivers no significant value unless the correct data is gathered and it is assessed and analyzed in the correct manner.
ISO 50001:2018 is the latest published international standard for Energy Management System (EnMS). It was published in August 2018.
ISO 50001:2018 specifies requirements for developing, applying, maintaining and continually improving an energy management system (EnMS).
An EnMS encompasses active management of energy into organization's management systems and daily procedures. The goal is to empower organizations to effectively manage their plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle on the basis of its energy usage, to attain savings in operating cost, and to continually boost energy performance and energy efficiency.
