Alison’s free online Lean courses provide training in many levels of this proven management system. Originating in Japan, Lean guides companies through processes to improve productivity and reduce waste. Lean training is incorporated into Alison’s Diploma in Operations Management (Ops) along with topics like supply chain management and overall equipment effectiveness. It is also taught in the shorter course, Supply Chain Management and Capacity Planning. Six Sigma is a branch of Lean management where practitioners progress through levels akin to judo belts. We suggest Learning Lean Six Sigma: Yellow Belt for anyone who needs to know how to participate fully as a member of a project management team.
With Alison’s free online certificate courses in Lean, you can gain practical training that will expand your skillset and boost your CV. We recommend Learning Lean Six Sigma: Yellow Belt for training in the quality requirements for the Lean Six Sigma methodology for reducing waste in organsational processes. For training in applying Lean management principles to processes from procuring raw materials to distributing finished goods, we suggest Supply Chain Management and Capacity Planning. The 5S system is another aspect of Lean methodology, based on the words ‘sort’, ‘set in order’, ‘shine’, ‘standardize’ and ‘sustain’. Find out more in The 5S System - Lean Methodology on Workplace Optimization and Housekeeping.
