Scope of QMS (Clause - 4.3.1)
 
• Supporting functions, either on-site or remote (for instance design centers, corporate headquarters, and distribution centers), needs to be incorporated in the scope of the QMS.• The only allowed exclusion for this Automotive QMS Standard refers to the product design and development requirements in the ISO 9001 standard, Clause 8.3. The exclusion needs to be justified and kept as documented information (check ISO 9001, Clause 7.5). manufacturing process design is not included here.
• Customer specific requirements needed to be assessed and to be incorporated in the scope of the organization's QMS.
 
Product Safety (Clause - 4.4.1.2)

The company needs to have documented processes for the management of product safety related products and manufacturing processes.
