Beginner English 112

English is a diverse language needing many skills to master its nuances. This course is the twelfth course and builds on everything you have learned in the ‘Beginner English 101’ to ‘Beginner English 111’ series so far. We have designed this course to help you master the pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary relating to the past. To start, you will learn about past tense endings. Past tense verbs have three different endings which include -ed as /d/, /t/ or /id/. 

The second part of the course covers the grammar for this section. You will learn about the past tense ‘be’, including the positive and negative forms. You will remember to include words such as ‘there was’ or ‘there were’ before moving on to the past simple tense using regular and irregular verbs. You will discover how to ask ‘past time’ questions that include yes/no answers before asking questions that need answers with more detail. 

The final section of this course looks at common time expressions in the past. You use these expressions when something has happened in the past. You will master words and phrases relating to time such as in, on, at, yesterday, last, and ago. Gain the ability to discuss past events and talk about past activities.
