Getting started with Alison’s Free LMS takes less than 5 minutes. Simply enter some basic information via our sign up form. The quick and easy registration process allows you to set up your account and immediately begin assigning learning via your new Free LMS platform.

To upgrade from the Free LMS to LMS+, click on the “LMS+” button in the top-right corner of your LMS dashboard, or select “Explore LMS+” from the side navigation bar.

From there, choose the LMS+ plan that best fits your needs and select either a monthly or annual subscription option. You can then proceed to payment or request an invoice to complete the upgrade.

Once your payment is confirmed, your account will be upgraded and you’ll gain full access to all LMS+ features.

No. A valid business email address is required to create and manage an LMS+ organisation as a Super Admin. The email domain must match your company's registered website domain.

Learners (team members) may use personal email addresses to access the LMS, but the Super Admin and Admin accounts must use business email addresses.

There are three manager-level roles in LMS+:

Super Admin - Full account control. Manages billing, users, roles, groups, certificates, and all settings. One per organisation.

Admin - A configurable sub-admin role assigned by the Super Admin. Admins have access to all groups and can perform most management actions across the organisation. A user cannot hold both the Admin and Group Manager roles at the same time.

Group Manager - A limited role scoped to one or more specific groups assigned by the Super Admin. Group Managers can assign learning, allocate certificates from the Certificate Bank, and view reports within their assigned groups only. They cannot purchase certificates, create groups, or access other groups' data.

The Super Admin is the primary account owner of your organisation's LMS. There is only one Super Admin per organisation. The Super Admin has full control over the account, including billing, user management, role assignment, group creation, certificate purchases, and all platform settings.

The Super Admin role cannot be changed via self-service. If you need to transfer the Super Admin to another person, please contact Alison support.

The Free LMS is a no-cost plan designed for small teams of up to 10 users. It gives you access to the full Alison course library, basic assignment and reporting tools, and paid certificate purchases. It does not include Groups, co-branded certificates, Content Hub, Psychometric Assessments, or the ability to remove ads.

LMS+ is Alison's paid subscription product, available in three plans: Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. All LMS+ plans include unlimited users, ad-free learning, Groups, co-branded certificates, and bulk certificate discounts. Growth and Enterprise plans also include Psychometric Assessments. Content Hub is available on all LMS+ plans with storage increasing by tier.
