Getting started with Alison’s Free LMS takes less than 5 minutes. Simply enter some basic information via our sign up form. The quick and easy registration process allows you to set up your account and immediately begin assigning learning via your new Free LMS platform.

To upgrade from the Free LMS to LMS+, click on the “LMS+” button in the top-right corner of your LMS dashboard, or select “Explore LMS+” from the side navigation bar.

From there, choose the LMS+ plan that best fits your needs and select either a monthly or annual subscription option. You can then proceed to payment or request an invoice to complete the upgrade.

Once your payment is confirmed, your account will be upgraded and you’ll gain full access to all LMS+ features.

No. A valid business email address is required to create and manage an LMS+ organisation as a Super Admin. The email domain must match your company's registered website domain.

Learners (team members) may use personal email addresses to access the LMS, but the Super Admin and Admin accounts must use business email addresses.

There are three manager-level roles in LMS+:

Super Admin - Full account control. Manages billing, users, roles, groups, certificates, and all settings. One per organisation.

Admin - A configurable sub-admin role assigned by the Super Admin. Admins have access to all groups and can perform most management actions across the organisation. A user cannot hold both the Admin and Group Manager roles at the same time.

Group Manager - A limited role scoped to one or more specific groups assigned by the Super Admin. Group Managers can assign learning, allocate certificates from the Certificate Bank, and view reports within their assigned groups only. They cannot purchase certificates, create groups, or access other groups' data.

The Super Admin is the primary account owner of your organisation's LMS. There is only one Super Admin per organisation. The Super Admin has full control over the account, including billing, user management, role assignment, group creation, certificate purchases, and all platform settings.

The Super Admin role cannot be changed via self-service. If you need to transfer the Super Admin to another person, please contact Alison support.

The Free LMS is a no-cost plan designed for small teams of up to 10 users. It gives you access to the full Alison course library, basic assignment and reporting tools, and paid certificate purchases. It does not include Groups, co-branded certificates, Content Hub, Psychometric Assessments, or the ability to remove ads.

LMS+ is Alison's paid subscription product, available in three plans: Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. All LMS+ plans include unlimited users, ad-free learning, Groups, co-branded certificates, and bulk certificate discounts. Growth and Enterprise plans also include Psychometric Assessments. Content Hub is available on all LMS+ plans with storage increasing by tier.

• The email address associated with the LMS

• The reason for the deletion request

Important: Once an LMS is deleted, access to the organisation's LMS environment and administrative settings may no longer be available. We recommend ensuring that any required reports or information have been exported before proceeding with deletion.

In line with GDPR guidelines, learner accounts are considered personal accounts owned by the learner. For this reason, only the learner can reset their password.

LMS managers: Super Admins, Admins, or Group Managers do not have rights to reset or change a learner’s password on their behalf.

Learners can reset their password in one of the following ways:

• By using the password reset option on the Alison website (see the relevant help article for step-by-step instructions here)

• By contacting Alison Support via live chat on the website

• By emailing support, using the email address linked to their Alison account for verification purposes*

*For security reasons, we must verify account ownership before processing any password-related requests.

Password reset for LMS learners

If you are an LMS learner without administrative access, you will need to reset your password through the main Alison portal. Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found here.

Password reset for Super Admins, Admins, and Group Managers

Users with administrative access to the LMS have two options for resetting their password:

• Reset the password through the main Alison portal (same process as learners), or

• Reset it directly from the LMS login page

To reset your password through the LMS portal:

1. Open the LMS login page

2. Click the “Reset Password” button, as shown below

3. An automated password reset email will be sent to your registered email address

4. Open the email and click the reset link to create a new password

Important:

• Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the email in your inbox

• The password reset link is valid for 24 hours only

• If the link expires, you will need to submit a new password reset request

Once your password is updated, you can continue managing and supporting your learners through the LMS.

The Organisation Information section in your LMS acts as part of your Super Admin account settings.

From this page, you can update key details such as:

• Training Manager information

• Organisation information: company name, website link, and logo

Some fields, such as company country or industry, are not editable directly in the LMS. These details are typically fixed because they rarely change.

If you entered incorrect information during registration and need it updated:

1. Email our support team at [email protected]

2. Include:

   • Which information needs to be updated

   • The correct details that should appear
