Description

Chess is a centuries-old game of strategy. While its origin is uncertain, you can trace predecessors to the game to India, Persia, and even China. In Russia, chess has over 1000 years of history. Between the 12th and the 15th century, the game became popular in Western Europe. In 1497, Luis Ramirez de Lucena published what we know to be the oldest book in chess study. His work, "Repetition of love and the art of playing chess", is the first study of chess openings that we are aware of being written. Today, opening theory or the analysis of chess openings is a science in its own right. While you can spend years studying opening theory, this course is designed to help you understand the basic fundamental principles of chess openings. You don't have to be an expert, and you don't have to memorize hundreds of moves to play your openings well.

This course is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to improve their game. Even grandmasters understand the importance of a good opening and constantly scrutinize them. You will begin your study by analyzing why the opening is critical in a chess game by understanding chess's single most important idea. Analyze the principles of activity and development and how to apply these principles in your games. Learn what pieces you should move first and where your pieces are more active on the board. Study the benefits of gambits, exchanges, and prophylactic moves. Become familiar with the principles behind castling, recognize when to castle, and to which side you should castle. Most importantly, you will be able to explain why dominating the centre of the board wins games. After studying these principles, you will have an opportunity to test your knowledge by doing a few activities with the advantage of having the solutions, which you can refer to, explained in detail.

What if you play against an opponent that deviates from basic chess principles? What if an opponent wants to throw you off your game or intimidate you with unconventional moves or openings? This course will teach you when and how to break away from these fundamental principles, how to identify if it's a dubious move made by an inexperienced player or a move made by an expert manipulative player. Learn how to think like a chess master and learn from one of the world's top players. This course also includes a list of games played by world champions pitching every move of their games. This list is an excellent occasion for you to set up your board and study the games played by the world's most qualified players. If you are passionate about chess and love the game, you will enjoy this course. Take your time, have fun, and take your game to the next level by mastering chess opening strategies with this game-changing course.
