The Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC) was an organisation which supported people in coming together to enact a shared vision of a healthy community which produced innovative solutions to meet challenges and which built equitable and sustainable housing. The organisation focused its efforts into three key areas: education, engagement and collaboration.
With education as a central pillar of the Coalition's programme, the central office in Toronto organised learning activities for participating communities across a wide range of topics. The Coalition was also committed to making their educational resources as widely available as possible.
While the OHCC was dissolved in 2019 and incorporated into a new entity, the Green Communities Coalition, their ideas remain as important as ever. Alison is proud to host an invaluable series of courses created by the Coalition on community development and how to bring people together in order to achieve common, positive goals.
